Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I thought only Scottish people said that, Derby Tup? As someone who works in the Arctic, I can assure you, too cold for snow is not a thing and certainly not one that happens in the UK. But it does make me laugh and remember my mum when I hear it.

My mum and dad used to say it, along with ‘it’s comin’ down like gre’t big afe crowns’. Another favourite I actually said to myself the other day was the sky looks full o’ somethin’

Too cold for snow and sky looks full of something; all very familiar sayings here. No snow but cold wind.

Is it black over Bill’s motha’s? I always found that confusing because our neighbour was called Bill and I knew where his mum’s house was :-)
