That final set of runs reminded me of Alan Baxter's "bronze" at the Olympics; he got his job done and then so many tumbles after that. Let's hope Ryding didn't need to find a Vicks inhaler from a chemist just afterwards...!

I've got a weekend booked at the end of March. Would dearly love to go for a few days as well, as a weekend isn't enough, and my friends like to eat and drink a lot too. Not sure I have anybody to tag along with, and skiing is certainly a social type of sport for me.

Came back from ValDisere Sunday, blue sky's everyday, had a few cm of fresh snow Thursday Am so had a little cloud untill 10am.
Slopes were very quite, and no lift ques ;-)
They are expecting it to get busier, most of the instructors were saying that they only had a single 2 hour lesson per day, which was better than the no skiing last year. Generally the French in resort were really pleased to see us.

The only issue was Swiss Passport control at Geneva, it took a full 2 hours from check in to departure gate, and the plane was nearly an hour late taking off as they were taking so long checking passports.

Meglet When we first started our trips it was with Ski Weekender skiweekender.com

They offer 3 and 4 day breaks and are an hour from Geneva, very slick operation Paul and Jess are lovely people, la Clusaz and Grand Bornand are both great French resorts with slightly different characters

I've been to La Clusaz, though not great snow the years I went. Les Carroz is good for being close to Geneva.

My weekend trip this year is Meribel. I love the resort but it's a bit of a pain for a weekend as the transfer is slightly too long to get more than an hour of skiing on the day you arrive

Merry Christmas & Happy New G(rrr)
Anyone been up to Glenshee, Cairngorm, Lecht or Glencoe yet? I'm thinking about popping up to Glenshee shortly. Website says season doesn't open until Dec 17th (Saturday) but they said on news last night they had 4 lifts open. If not, I can always "skin" up. Good exercise! :-) g

OK I've held off long enough.

If you're heading on a board or the planks, where are you off to?...
