Also, human faces are notoriously hard to get right. It's no wonder more picture books have mice and rabbits as the heroes than preschool children.

I had notions last year of doing regular sketches even though I can't draw for toffee I got a sketch pad I have coloured pencils. Even charcoal pencils

Watercolour Challenge with the delightful Hannah Gordon was a favourite post-school decompression programme for me and my two boys in the late 90's. We all had a go at sketching and watercolour painting but sadly none of us turned out to have hidden talents
