Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I think crying is also self care. Especially for those who are recently bereaved.

You're not wrong. Sometimes, well as often as is healthy, just letting your emotions out is self care.

Stiff upper lip is a phrase that should be resigned to the past. There isn't the sort of crisis going on that calls for us to be surprised our ferlings.

Let rip. I won't judge.

I had a good cry this afternoon after my viva, felt much better for it
Today’s self care was Rebound and Zumba, and I picked up my pottery this morning. I was so happy with how my crazy candlestick turned out, better than I’d hoped for. And nothing stuck to the kiln!

It’s in 3 pieces but this is the only one I had time to finish glazing. Ds2 said ‘it’s not bad’ and I nearly fell over in shock, because his highest praise is usually ‘that’s not too shit’

Self care today was Rebound and I’m dragging the kids out to play pitch and putt if the course isn’t flooded. Might need a plan B

The guru in the house is knitting a christmas tree hat for parkrun tomorrow. Knitting looks very meditative and I've decided to learn as it's magical, but time is short for tomorrow morning. I'm now on the hunt for LEDs to build into it and there's pompon baubles to make. Parkrun volunteering is a serious business when they take dressing up so seriously - and all because I rebelled against buying a cheap single-use, waste of materials, santa suit. This hat will be for keeps.
