Strathearn trail half, ooft, brutal. Two laps, as hard as Kinlochleven half imho.

Tried my lobster claw gloves from Planet X earlier, thought they were quite cosy. Wasn’t out for long though; only 23k on the mtb.

That's long enough to find out about the gloves in this weather! Strathearn can't have been that hard if you were fit for the bike

Anybody done the Glentress half or full, how stringent are they with the kit list?

Sounds fun Ally At least you beat the rain (which is now coming down heavily here which is admittedly not that near Glentress).
First visit to Loch Leven parkrun for me. Fastest parkrun in five months. Course was a bit workaday and the best views are behind you. Cafe surprisingly reasonable considering how much is charged for everything else. Found myself on one of the sofas there and it turns out you can order the same furniture. Bamboo lampshades were £68-£115, fancy lightbulb £40, side table £145. The sofa was £1695.

Can anyone tell me much about Gartmorn 6? I’m looking for some different races for this year but worried about the hillyness and trailyness. Don’t mind being slow but hate being in the last few (even though I usually get a big cheer haha) I need to decide quickly as only 7 places left.
Well done Dvorak, loved that parkrun and the shop was great. It was so so wet the day I did it so will need to go back and try it on a fairer day!

We did agree that it would be a lovely setting on a sunny calm day but tbh I think I'd get more from a walk by the loch.
Gartmorn: not that hilly, not that trailly. Much is not iirc even trail at all. There will be some mud, and steps. I did it without disliking it, though without wanting to repeat it. A jolly and well catered scene in the hall afterwards. (It's several steps milder than Plean parkrun, for sure.)
