Kirky was my first ever Scottish race a decade ago. After it a read about something called 'parkrun' which seemed an interesting idea.

My other appearance was an ice fest. Some of the steep downs were a bit scary. Hope the weather behaves this year.

It was icy in 2018 but they had salted/gritted the dangerous parts so you could run in near safety. It was the same day as the Livingston half which was very dangerous ( by all accounts)

Livvy half was shocking. Not clear how I stayed upright and ran 1:32 ! There were a few casualties

Looks like I did Kirky in 2016. Great efforts were made removing ice from the finish area.

Last run Kirkie in 2015 during fling buildup and checking my training log I had a long run on the Saturday before so looking forward to having a good go of this on fresher legs.

Ran 3 times so have a PB to go for and know what to expect. It is hilly but don’t remember any of them being that long and you can still get some decent speed on the other downs.

A decent stepping stone to Balloch half next month.

Hmm, was hoping for a decent time on a non-standard distance. But now worried at how hilly it looks. Oh well, I'll give it a blast. Hope it's not icy! :-O I *will* choose to DNS if it is icy, as I hate the risk of slipping and causing myself an injury. :-) G

Crathes Parkrun started today. Alternative route but very nice forest trail and a bit of tarmac. Some challenging gradient (especially at the end!). Well work a go.
