For absolutely no reason today I'm wearing one of my favourite work dresses (the red and black gingham check reminds me of traditional Welsh costumes, so I call it my little old Welsh lady dress. Little old Welsh ladies are awesome) some eyeliner, perfume, and a white poppy necklace I treated myself to when I thought there was a chance I might be going to work at NATO and wanted a really subtle way to rebel against the red poppy tyranny.

Thanks!

I got it through Topvintage.net topvintage.net

there are also earrings (and a red version), but I'm not good at dangly earrings, they tend to tickle and annoy me plus require taking out my standard everyday steel jewellery and that's almsot too much faff for me to be doing with.

I wore a pair of my best trousers for work at home yesterday. I’ve no idea when I might wear them for going out again

Sorry Linds, didn't mean to put you in the path of temptation...

They're a really nice small company based in NL, though, great customer service, lovely friendly staff the couple of times I've been to their outlet sales, so I feel a lot less guilty about internet shopping knowing I'm supporting them. And of course so, so, many beautiful things... I think about 70% of my wardrobe (more if you don't include sportsing kit) must have been acquired through them by now.

Also they used to package things in boxes with tissue paper so they didn't arrived too horribly creased and smooshed, and include a little pack of refresher types sweeties and a little gifty thing like a magnet or a fan, or in the summer inflatable drinks holder or beach ball, which made receiving things feel extra special. But they've switched to bags that can be reused to send returns now, which I suppose makes a sort of sense, but is a bit less of treat, and I don't think there were sweets in the last couple I received (though there was definitely at least one fan, which I left on the coffee table and a dog ate).

I had a quick look at the dresses and they were super lovely. I might get my sister one for Christmas. That will scratch the buying itch and provide a thoughtful present :)
