Great news about Mrs DT, DT19. I hope she continues to recover well and the medications work their magic. 4 miles yesterday, barre class (s&c middle class southerner style) this morning. |

DT - good news, hope she is on the mend now Riggsy - what is a Cosmo breakfast? Not heard of that. Bike reps again today, same session, but it's a dead end road and almost exactly 3min up and 1 min down, so ideal. Run day tomorrow. We have gales and rain Friday too, not sure what ill do as we have a funeral that day, for one of my wife's family. |

DT - Good news come in 3's, your wife coming home, a Vo2max of 70 - far higher than anyone I know here and a 98th minute equaliser for City last night. Gerard - Congratulations on the unexpected win, especially with the err umm handicap. Suspect your friends doing the AoA are already / on their way to Cornwall? Lots of motivatory comments being put up on the AoA FB pages, my favourites "Choosing to suffer is a privilege" "Expect the worst and it will be worse than you expect". Weather not to bad for Saturday, clear and cold, but the strong winds and driving rain would have passed through by then. Mandatory kit check and bib number collection on Friday then green for go. Doing an easy 5m with the club tonight with some of the other AoA runners. Hoping toi finish in aroiund 4.5 - 5 hours but no real idea of what the course will be like, apart from being very muddy. |

Ouchouch, you've dodged an absolute ambush of bullets there with the weather. Doing that run in fridays conditions would have been horrific. Hope you have 'fun'. Yes it was a must not lose game last night, as will be the next game. Riggsy, I am equally unclear on a COSMO breakfast? LMH, yep you've got a nice pass on Friday. TR, hope the reps went well. Wardi, well done on the 9.5. Thanks all, she seems to be making recovery leaps and she is signed off remainder of this week and all of next week. 12m at lunchtime, still a bit colder than i keep expecting. The run yielded a low HR of 124 average for 7.56mm and a beats per mile of 979, some of the lowest stats i've had. I just need this to translate into a performance in Tokyo. Been doing some early research and planning for the trip, getting my head around a few things. |

Going great guns @DT19 in spite of the life stress. Wishing your wife a full & speedy recovery. Best of luck with AoA @OuchOuch 🤞the weather doesn’t get delayed. Looks quite pleasant on Saturday. Decent trot at Cardiff pr too. Congratulations on the win @GerardM & commiserations on the GI issues. Had my share of them over the years. Glad to hear the Achilles problems are behind you @riggys99 & you’re back on for Tissington. Plenty of good miles @Little Miss Happy. Will you race anything else before London? Hit 40M last week with a couple of double digit runs Friday & Sunday. Looking for similar this week 5K, 4.5M including a Mona Fartlek, 11.8M so far. |

Nice 12m DT79, enjoy the Tokyo preparations. Riggys.. I'm not sure what a COSMO breakfast is either, hope it was tasty! OO.. hope the wind dies down enough for you this weekend. Good luck at the event. Jooligan.. Best of luck getting back to some consistent miles. Enjoyed a 12m run today. It was misty and murky first thing, gradually cleared as I did a few laps of the racecourse. |

Good luck OO you certainly avoid the worst of it. All sounds good TR. Wardi our v40 guy is probably best in the club at the moment. He's from a Tri background and before he concentrated on running about 8 years ago I beat him once or twice at parkrun 😆. Nice guy too... Cut back week here as the knee is sore again. Tried a fast track sesh on Tuesday and it failed on effort 3 big time. Good miles Wardi. Some race Ger.... |

DT - excellent news re your wife. Do they know what it was? No prize, I think you get a trophy and voucher if you win the series of 3 races. I won’t enter the other 2 as they’ll interfere with my training plan. That was a one off return after a 7 year hiatus. I’d need to be a lot fitter to make me want to enter again. Unreal fitness stats. You could surprise yourself in Tokyo TR - I really didn’t fancy ducking into the bushes in the headland without big roll. I was confident I would make it. Running made it feel worse. OO - thank you. I’ve seen one guy on LMH - similar forecast here. I loathe the wind more than the cold temps. Sick of Storms tbh, we’ve been battered by quite a few in the past year or so. Good weekly mileage. Riggys - for a moment there I thought were you drinking cocktails at breakfast. Then having read back you didn’t mention Cosmo breakfast but a Cosmo all you can eat buffet. Googled it and it looks like an interesting concept restaurant. Although, I’m not a huge fan of buffets as I tend to pick loads of things that’s don’t go together. Forrest J - thank you. It’s never happened to me before. 40 is a decent weekly total. Wardi - that’s a lovely MWMLR. OO61 - oh no, that knee is really bothering you. Does it seem to flare up after specific sessions? Thanks pal. Cheers for all the congrats. The tummy issue was a pest but it was a humbling experience if I’m being honest. I won the inaugural 10k 3 race series 7 years ago and ran well then even if my experience on trails was limited. Was fitter and lighter then, so how it felt was to be expected. I’ll return again but when I’m in better condition. Back to it this week with 2 10k run’s Monday and Tuesday with a s&c session Tuesday lunchtime. Had DOMS today. Was gonna run again today but settled for gym circuits, some ice plunge pool and hot pool time for recovery. Will run tomorrow but the weather is looking awful. |

Evening It was a COSMO buffet. It’s an all you can eat place mainly Chinese Indian food but also things like roast dinners, pasta dishes and pizza. Great selection of desserts. 1 plate of Chinese food, 1 plate steak and BBQ type food, 1 plate Indian, bowl of soups and then some pudding and ice cream. Always an interesting drive home definitely don’t want to break to hard. DT glad your wife is improving. You seam to be putting a great training block in for Tokyo Sorry to hear the knee is causing problems again OO61 Nice 12 miles wardi. My morning dog walk was quite misty but we were mainly in the woods. Good luck at the weekend OO hope the weather holds out for you. Nice mix of trading Joolska Hope the run goes well on Thursday TR Nice milage FJ hope it continues First hill session since October this evening. A Kenyan hills type thing hard up and down 10 sec rest then repeat. Did 5 lots of up and downs with no problems. Will increase it next time |
