Wardi, I ticked the 1.15-1.20 box so I'll be in front pen. It's amazing how few people, even at massive events are able to run sub 80. Numbers seem to drop off significantly under 80.

Well done on the 5. Hadn't realised it was icing over tonight.

Ouchouch, enjoy Cardiff, parkrun and match. Yes I believe it's the biggest one.

Tr, back to running protocols usually call for 1 min on easy, 1 min walk x about 6 initially I seem to recall. Hope it goes well.

Sounds like some good footy memories, Riggsy. Hope the run w3nt well.

Lmh, sorry to hear it wasn't a good one today. Hopefully it'll be better tomorrow if you get out.

Oo, sounds like it'll be a good week. Enjoy parkrun.

Spin and 7m with strides yesterday then a hill sprints pyramid today, with 10m in total with wu and cd. Rest day tomorrow.

Been a tough day. Wife started feeling unwell Sunday, been bedridden since Tuesday unable to move. Dr diagnosed very acute mastoiditis and given her some nasty looking tabs. Temp was 39 and head swollen. Started improving last night but then deteriorated overnight. Dr appointment 9am packed her off to hospital so I drove her over. After multiple tests and inspections by different Dr's and 2 stints on an IV drip they finally decided about 7pm to keep her in as they still can't get to bottom of it as now ruled out mastoiditis. Work has been dead all week with things not quite coming to fruition , then today a number of jobs landed so with school runs, dog walks and general worry etc it's been really stressful.

Wasn't going to have a beer this week but as I've not had time to shop ended up with chippy and a couple of beers. On 48m for week, not sure my 21 on Sunday will happen, will prioritise as necessary in circumstances.

Blimey DT, that's a worry. Hopefully she is in the best place to get better now. You've got enough on your plate without training worry. Hope she get well soon, best wishes.

Evening

Hope the doctors can get to the bottom of your wife’s illness DT

TR hope the test run is successful. I am pushing on cautiously.

OO61 - 60 miles is a great training week.

LMH - sorry to hear todays run wasn’t great

No running today got home from a mad night at work felt shattered. Wife is off work this week because of her dad and she left me in bed till nearly 1700hrs (normally up 1430-1500hrs). Probably the events of the weekend and work catching up on me. Felt a lot better for the extra kip. Last night tonight so hopefully get some miles in at the weekend

Sorry to hear that DT. Hope she's feeling much better and on her way home soon.

Wardi - feels like freezing until this afternoon here today.

riggys - sounds as though you needed the sleep. Hope work wasn't too taxing.

Enjoy parkrun OO61. I've got all discombobulated and was convinced it's Sunday today.

Take it easy TR. Hoping for positive news.

If I can get myself out and round another six miles today that will give me sixty for the week. Meaningless arbitrary target but will hopefully be enough motivation. Therapy putty arrived yesterday so will start my hand exercises too. Some good news - have found alternative accommodation for London so now just need to enter and train though it won't be an attempt at sub 3 or anything else other than a safe GFA.

Sounds like the sleep was more needed than a run was, Riggsy.

Lmh, it's funny jow we have these various arbitrary targets. I like to be hitting 60. Hooe you got out.

Thanks for the comments, she's improving but they want to keep her in tonight again. May or may not get out tomorrow. Will need to go out relatively early and stay pretty local.

Glad to hear that Mrs DT is improving but sorry that she's looking at another night in hospital. Sounds as though your priorities might be elsewhere for a few days yet. Hope you manage to get a run in today. I did get out thanks and despite the grey and cold had a much better run ending up with ten miles.

Riggsy - you needed that sleep.

LMH - 60m is decent, 5 runs? Is that London accommodation still with friends?

DT - good that she is on the mend. 20 x 1mile local loops tomorrow then. Although something shorter might be wise, given the life stresses.

5m easy done. Still some tightness, although that could be from a lack of running too. Didn't feel like id have to stop and walk like last weekend, but a long way from thinking could run 20m. Will have to keep doing the exercises and see how it goes. Will try another run on Monday. I might have been able to go further, but didn't want to push my luck. Will have to build fitness on the bike/turbo.

Lmh, yes sorry, good news re London accommodation.

My daughter has now been asked to friends for a sleepover so she is out from 5. My son will sleep until midday and won't know I've been out so ought to be OK now in morning as she's the one who is a bit young to leave for long.

Good job on the 5. Assess tomorrow any hangover from it and hopefully go again Monday.

Sensible not to push it TR. 64 this week.

Good that you have a window of opportunity DT19.

Yes, accommodation is with another friend. I'll leave it until pay day and then decide whether to enter or not. It is a lovely day out when you're not running for a time though.

About This Thread

Hi

Fetch has said us RW refugees can relocate here. I know there are existing sub3 and 3.15 threads, but the fetch threads seem to be for more infrequent posters. The RW threads are more of a daily diary.

We'll see how it goes.

I'm a M57 hanging on to sub3. I'm unattached harriers so like a place to talk a bit of running and find some inspiration and accountability.
