I had the Oxford Astrazeneca jab and have felt really rough for the last 24 hours. My wife had the Pfizer jab last month and only had fatigue and a sore arm.
I was wondering whether those having the Pfizer jab are likely to return to running efficiently much faster than those who have had the Oxford.

thanks WelshPoppy I hadn't considered pollen. I recall someone else suggesting that a couple of years back when I had a dip in form. Maybe I should think of a way of checking that out.

Hope it clears up for you. I use an inhaler now (asthma) despite never thinking I had asthma. It def helps with shortness of breath. Also pollen / allergies make it worse for me.
Had my jag on Mon evening, chose not to run yesterday, ran just now and all fine. Taking it pretty slow, but didn't feel any differences. G

And to SP's question, I was AZ, no side effects (maybe a bit of sore head yesterday, took paracetamol, all gone) and as I say, run today 36 hours after jag and all normal. G

My hayfever is triggered by birch pollen and it kicked in as usual late February.
The side effects of the Pfizer booster lasted about 9 days in total for me. I took 5 days off the bike, as I made the mistake of carrying on training after the first vaccination and felt dreadful.

I've got my vaccine tomorrow lunchtime and I'm supposed to be trotting around a low key marathon on Saturday. Obviously I'll DNS that if HR is raised or I'm unwell.

That’s very bad timing. Could you reschedule your vaccination?

I had the Pfizer jag. First dose in Jan had no side effects at all and didn't impact a big month.
Did a gentle 5k with the dog after dose 2, drank a great deal that night and still managed 14 trail miles next day. Couldn't sleep on the arm for a couple of days though.
