I'm hoping to get to 4/1 soon but won't be anywhere near Lip Gloss's pace for 10k! What a great outing there LG.

Thank you. Not my quickest but as I’m coming back from illness I’m taking it as a good run and I still felt okay at the end.

LG that’s hit the nail on the head. Run walk is much less stress on the body Need to start getting my ratios sorted. Marathon training has begun.

Lip Gloss. Can I ask what your fastest 10k is using run/walk? |

To be fair today's is my fastest but I've only done it twice, my last was 1.06. I ran one early morning last month and managed 1.03 but that was running it all but I'm enjoying the walk break for the moment.

Lip gloss That's very interesting only 3min difference overall as on 4/1 ratio you've walked 12mins. |

Although I'm enjoying the run/walk principle and it's keeping my miles and endurance stable (up to a point) , I'm really doing it because of my inability to maintain a run currently. It's a disaster in some ways because I've been running for forty two years and now, HAVE to run/walk and I doubt I'll entirely run much further than 5k ever again.☹️ It will be great if I can get to 4/1 like you LG and then re evaluate.

steve45 I’m hoping I can get back to running further some day without a ratio but for the moment it’s helping and keeping me getting out there as I was ready just to jack it all in as I thought if you weren’t running every run then you were cheating…..daft I know. |

Ugh! I upped my ratio from mere 40 second run/30 second walk to 3 minute run/ 1 minute walk over five miles. Turned out that my body isn't anywhere near in shape ...or maybe just my heart. My pace was slower and my average HR higher than doing almost the same distance with 40/30. I enjoyed it though and the light mornings are a treat at 6am. Work in progress. I've never thought about packing it in LG! Looks like you're going to be back all running far quicker than me. |
