Happy New Year all! I haven't managed any running since my lat post in October, tried to start C25K but old injured niggling so decided it wan't worth it. Still walking most days and plan to try run/walk or C25K when the weather is a bit less dodgy!

Happy New Year *fireworks* ... hmm, try these

Since my previous post, I've added a 13km and another 11km r/w, both at 2/1, with about four weeks between each. Think I'll try to keep this up. The 13 was the longest logged-as-a-run distance since a ten mile race (Tay Ten *waves to Ultracat*) in February 2018. Mind you, they do take a chunk of time: I've nearly run a hm in the time 13.4 took!

Nice work Dvorak. Don't worry about the time. You are still beating all those sat at home on the sofa. :-)

Happy New Year Mad Welsh Woman. Good luck with the Run/walk or C25k. Hope the old injury clears up soon. Probably a good idea to wait for the better weather. Walking in winter time can be great, with woolly hat and scarf.

I've reintroduced run/walk for those days when I don't think I'd go for a run if I had to run it all, if that makes sense. I've set Garmin to 3:1 and it worked ok today.

That makes perfect sense, GM. On looking at my training for the last three years, over half of the time recorded (though not distance) has been run-walk. I'm sure that quite a few would never have happened if I "had" to run it all.

Hi Blizzard - I do worry about the time though: I want to be faster! When I made the realisation above (13.4 km r/w having taken 1:53:25 - that's only 23 seconds less than my 21.1 km pb), I was a bit "hmm". And it is a fair chunk of a day, albeit I ran chatting with a mate and it was nice to be out.

Photo credit above was omitted: SooWoo. I only saw them on the telly, but they were outside her door. Which must have been quite a shock to anyone not expecting them :-)

10k this morning done as a 5k run (just under 33.30) then 5k run walk 60:30 intervals (just over 34.10). So...not much difference!

I’ve been using run/walk for all of my long runs. This morning I did 7.5 miles using 30:30 which worked out at an average pace of 12.30mm. I’m a member of a Facebook group called Girls That Jeff and some of the paces they manage using 30:30 are incredible…under 10mm. How do they do that?

Hiya Lin. Used to be in that group but had a bit of a Facebook groups cull a while ago. I guess they are power walking and the run parts are pretty fast. Fantastic running by the way xx

Thanks Corrah. I didn’t push the pace too much today because of the heat. I usually do 60:30 on long runs and go down to 40:20 or 30:30 if I need to.
