Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

At the start of this year, I planned to run a few Half Marathons. I entered 3 and ran the first one in early Feb, before Covid really got going. The second one I ran as a virtual event and the third one I deferred until next year. At the start of (the first) lockdown I realised that organised running events were going to be very unpredictable. So I changed my goal to: run 2020 miles in 2020. My previous best being 1633 miles in 2013. It is now mid-November and I'm on course to reach my goal, but I'm also pretty 'washed-out.' I have now turned again to the 'Run/Walk/ Run' method to help me. I now feel confident of reaching my goal and I'm starting to get a bit of 'Bounce' back into my legs.

Thank you. Run/walk/run is brilliant. Don't know why I don't use it all the time !

I don't use it for shorter runs but if I think I'm going to be out for much more than an hour I do.

I surprised myself yesterday with an 11.35 km run walk - longest distance since a race way back in February. Not been near that distance in months. Running with a mate 2:30/ 1:00 and expecting to be out for an hour in, 7 or 8 km. But we were blethering and in the main going really slowly (46 minutes parkrun pace) and the distance just ticked by.

Feeling surprisingly fine today, though a very long bath may have helped with this :-) An interesting point: he has been running more often (and 50% faster) but just 3 or 4 miles. Over the piece, my HR graph (allowing for run/walk variation) was pretty level, whereas his trended steadily upwards, although from a comparatively very low start point.
