I'm not actively going for it this month, though I did briefly consider it as a way of reinvigorating my running. Unfortunately I even missed the first day! Good luck Funky Chicken!

Thanks JCB. Sorry to hear you missed the boat this month. I think on certain days I will opt for a few shorter walks throughout the day and just try to make sure they add up to the required amount.

That is a great plan. Breaking it into multiple smaller activities is very useful.

I’ve not played this before so I have a couple of questions

If my fetch is in miles does it mean I have to run in miles? Do I need to switch to kms?

I’m only playing for the badge and for something ‘different’ having recently lost interest in other games I was playing.

Oh do they all need to be runs, if I opted for running?

There isn’t much of a game guide! I guess it really is supposed to be simple!

Looking at the board you could do either as long as you do the full distance that day. I’ve only ever did it when it was K’s only . I liked it that way as I didn’t fancy 11 miles on the 11th or the 29th when my legs were getting tired. I’m going to try it again soon.

To expand that a little

There are three separate and distinct challenges - Run, Walk and Bike. If you record an activity as a run then it will count towards the Run challenge, walks will be walks and rides will be rides. Each activity counts towards one challenge only - so, for example, the three mile walk I've logged this morning doesn't count towards the distance I need to get the points in today's run challenge

The game works in km and the badge is awarded if you complete any one of the challenges in km. Don't worry about logging your training in miles - the Fetch hamsters will do the conversion for you. That said, the game does record if you've gone beyond the necessary daily distance up to the imperial 'equivalent' - today will show as green if you cover 4km and blue if it's 4 miles. Either way, it's 4 points towards the monthly total.

I have just completed Walk the Sum for the current month - I usually aimed for at least the minimum kilometre requirement for each day, but occasionally walked a bit further and managed it in miles.

Just waiting for the badge to come through at the moment.

Thanks, I never realised you could change it to a walk challenge. Handy to know if I ever give up the running.

1) Add the digits of the date together e.g 18th = 1+8 = 9km, 20th = 2+0 = 2km.

2) Run that distance on the relevant date to colour it in.

3) Complete the whole month to get a badge.
