A big boo to the Japanese club who have employed the homophobe, Israel Folau, who is now back in Union.

Great game today - Quins v Exeter. Exeter had a player sent off at halftime when it was 7-7; in the second half Quins squandered in the rain at least 5 gilt-edged try scoring chances, dropping the ball over the line at least twice, and Exeter then took them 100m up the pitch and got a try. Quins were 7-12 down with 2 minutes to go. A late try by Esterhuizen and a Smith conversion bouncing in off the post made it 14-12 to Quins with 40 seconds to go. Quins knocked on at the restart and Exeter managed to go through phases and Simmonds was in the pocket for a drop goal only to knock on themselves. A match that proves Quins can tough out games. Joe Marchant I thought was quietly outstanding on the wing, can see him starting for England. |

What's the tactical nuance that I'm missing in this clip? Can't the blue team just hoof it into touch? twitter.com |

I wasn't expecting Wasps to be the first side to beat Leicester this season! And, while they were playing better than usual and Tiggers were undisciplined, have to admit that it did depend on a couple of heavy weight ref decisions and could easily have been an 11 point loss

We were poor by our recent standards, albeit with a bit of a makeshift team with players covering out-of position (or possibly they were training for an Englands call up from EJ). And Ford's goal kicking was not to his usual level. We gave it away though, with having Genge as skipper a major contributor to that. He was at the heart of much of the ill-discipline, and made some really bad decisions. Especially those repeated scrums at the end when he should have taken 3 points to level the scores and still have 5 minutes to go for the win. |

I would rarely pick a front row as captain on principle though, as I think Centre or second row makes the best position for the captain to lead from for a variety of reasons. |

I think Sean Fitzpatrick would be an exception there TM. He was a pretty good captain.
