Aww, thanks Oranj, alpenrose & Ness. It's lovely to know that people actually look at these pictures.
The one from a couple of days ago was actually taken on my way home from work near the end of March, with a sudden bit of warm weather (in Scotland, it counts as a heatwave) where a ten minute detour up a glen made for one of those 10/10 runs. Happy memories with the birds singing and blue, blue skies. Here's a sister shot to the summit one:

Nice owl Pompey Paul. On tuesday we were eating at a pub in Mobberley, near Knutsford, and saw three owls carved from trees by people's houses. Here is one that I got from streetview

That is fab. There is a carved owl in my local park. This is the photo I took for a Treasure Hunt a few months ago...
