Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Not sure who was the more scared. It was a narrow path, not really room to pass, and something ahead had spooked them. So only just had time to turn the camera on and hope.
Then I thought 'this is 60-80kg of very solid deer at about 30mph' and I'm going to come off second best.
As I was heading into the side vegetation the deer shot under the wire fence on the left. Through a gap about 9 inches high. The second one, with teenage antlers wandered about a bit to find a better way through.

In Wollaton Park during a 10k race in the 90's i saw a lady runner in front of me wiped out by a deer crossing our path to get to its home, she didn't run for 6 months.

Some years back, a deer did take out my (admittedly) plasticky front bumper and wing as it ran into the road. Wrecked my car, but the deer was last seen running across the field.

Good skills. By the time I've whipped my camera/phone out, a deer is usually long gone...

I was nearly wiped out by two deer appearing unexpectedly from a hedge during the South Downs half marathon. Fortunately they did a cartoon-style screech to a halt and about turn before any contact was made.

Worst I've had lately was a bunch of sheep who were not happy with me running a narrow path on top of an earthwork. And started trotting along straight in front of me, and the others following behind me. If they'd just stepped sideways it would have been fine.
Sheep.
How unglamorous.
