Is that modern pentathlon? It has the bizarre element that they only find out the horse they ride a few minutes before the start!

Yep, there was a nasty fall in the women's Pentathlon yesterday. And 2 of the leaders were DQ'ed as their horses didn't want to jump. It's a bit of a lottery.

I'm watching the handball final - Russia are leading France

Horses are drawn. 18 horses 36 athletes. 20mins to meet your stead and 5 jumps max practice. Then get yourself over 12 obstacles safely.

One eye on the taekwondo. Horrible screeching from the other girl. Our fighters both through to the next round.

Russia held on to deny France. Good game with some flashes of violence :-)

Back to the diving now. Wow, Bo Qui is in 12th place :-o

I'm in a bit of an Olympics desert is Iceland (stopover on way back from US) but have tracked down the rhythmic gymnastics on a Danish channel as it is not on the free channels. A lady seems to be doing a cracking job of throwing maracas in a sparkly leotard
