Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

In this instance it is largely about you, Nellers. You are a Senior Fetchie and noted good egg, with a WAVA-shaped pair of clay feet.

Senior by age, duration of membership or site hits? Anyway, I didn't make the rules. I didn't set the 100m races up as PB events. I didn't program the 100m wava tables in to the site.

All I did was run a race and record the time. Isn't that what the site is for? Is it my fault if people (mainly people who are younger than me and should be faster but aren't;-)) are a bit green-looking?

Is anyone really that fussed about WAVA?

My 100m PB listed on Fetch isn't even my proper PB, I did 12.7x as a school boy using whatever automated timing system they used for race meetings at Bedford track in the 90s.

Agree with Lisa T regarding garmin times and official race result times.. However for fetch wanting-to-log-my time-ASAP-lack-of-patience-reasons I do record my Garmin time initially, and replace with official results as they are published. I do use my Garmin to time my race..so I start it when the race starts and not later when I pass the start line (non-chipped events). I am therefore never more than a few seconds out and I tend to stop my Garmin a second or 2 after I pass the finish line, so my Garmin time is normally a worst-case scenario and not a look-I've-been-robbed-of-x amount of-seconds-ordeal.

If the race time or distance is wildly different to that advertised or recorded, I'll put what my garmin says in my training log but I always list actual official results in my race portfolio - so what would show as my PB. Sometimes the official time is faster than what my garmin says & sometimes slower. Swings & roundabouts!

I have to say hammerite, I am bothered about WAVA, cos I know as I get older I'll likely not get too much faster, so it's a way of measuring myself.

That said WAVA on fell races is fairly useless!
