Thanks for the tips NJ and Sarah! Ibuprofen has gone on the list, I've never had to use it before so might have trouble remembering it's an option when I'm half-asleep but definitely good to have it there.
I don't mind running in the rain but can imagine some of those chalky bits would be unpleasantly slippery, especially in the dark, if it's too wet.

Advice? Hmmm
Pay careful attention to where you are running! The route is well signed, although some of them are a bit hidden, but every year there are loads of people who go of course.
Don't carry too much kit. Use your support team if you have one. Or too much food. The CPs are good for food, but as advised earlier don't spend to long there (especially at the midway meal stop). Try to refill your bottles, grab as much food as you want, and then eat it on the move. Even if you are walking easily while you eat, it'll save you a load of time overall.
If this is your first overnight, then you may find it hard going. Caffeine gels and the little Red Bull or Lucozade shots are good to carry on the night stages in case you need a 'wake-me-up'. Coke/coffee at the CPs is also good for this.
If yo cabn find someone to buddy up with overnight it'll be far easier, especially with the nav
Damn, I'm making myself want to do it again now, and I already have other plans
Try to make sure you have transport arranged from the finish. It's not brilliant for public transport.

Yeah, I've done a couple of practice runs along the last bit and know the bus back to Swindon isn't that frequent, but it'll do. And then hopefully someone will wake me up at Paddington if I fall asleep on the train...
Those little red bull things sound like a good idea for overnight, I'll try to get hold of a couple to put in my bag for halfway.

Good luck everyone. I'm wishing I were doing it too! Next year maybe? It's a heck of a race.

Good luck to all running this, would love to be back defending my V40 title but I need to concentrate on hitting the roads so near to Sparta.
Anne, transport to the train station isn't a problem as Dick makes regular trips there in his old bus, only had to wait about 90 mins until we went. Couple of cups of tea etc & the time just flies by.
It's Avebury for the finish Sarah, just the little village hall there. Can't find a postcode for it though.
