hmmm, post seems to have gone missing...

I was asking free entry to what too!

Other than Trailrunner, I get little direct benefit from TRA membership, but for a tenner a year it's an organisation I'm very happy to support as it is a good cause and behind many of the longer trail races.

Same here.

Plus as I was applying for the race permit through them, I thought it might look better if I joined...!

Good luck to you all, I still have painful memories of this run, but I did finish in 22-30. The Egg sandwiches at around 0200 in the morning were fantastic!

Insomniac
After flanker's post about the TR250 this am, I looked the race up on google just to see how many people finished etc. I found a blog, written by someone who didn't finish, but he's scared me a bit. He said that 3 of the runners were mugged overnight on the first night in seperate incidents. And that was in an all male race.

If the weathers good there will probably be loads of delinquents from oxford or swindon out looking for trouble. I'm thinking about taking my rape alarm with me and will try to find someone to run with when it gets dark.

Not quite all male. There were a couple of women running too. It is a bit worrying though, especially as it's on my long-term list.

Buddying up over night is always a good idea, but I had no trouble last year on the Ridgeway. Did run past a rave but they were all too stoned to be anything other than amusingly interested.

Oh, also got a 'run fatboy, run' from some brainless morons in a souped-up hairdryer, but as that was at about 80 miles I just wondered how far they'd get and was amused by it.
