I've been tracking my resting heart rate over the last month or so, and typically it's sitting around 46/47. I've heard of some super-fit runners having low heart rates, but I've only been running since February. I was a chunky pie eater before that. Now I'm running 30-40K a week. Is it a reasonable RHR or should I be getting it checked out by the doc?

Mine's 39 and I'm still a stone and a half overweight. I wouldn't worry.

I'm officially jealous. I can't get below 60 unless I'm unconscious.

Its whats normal for you, I'm far for optimum weight and not that fit but I tend to have a low resting heart rate. Maybe keep an eye on it over the coming weeks/months and see where it goes.
