I can't, basically. I changed it the other day and it went wrong (chopped my head off), now whenever I try replacing it with another it says its doing it but it doesn't. Anyone else?

Might be too big (your avatar not your head ) , try resizing the image and uploading it again , then making it your avatar

It's on my list to improve this feature - so many avatars that are sideways, or truncated For now, if you can, try to get the pic to be the right size before uploading. Sometimes also, it might look as though the change has either not worked, or reverted - but this is often because your browser has cached the old version. In this case, try a CTRL+F5, or Apple+R to force the browser to get the latest image.

Seems like more than one problem. First is the page doesn't refresh itself (at least in my browser) after the upload. Second the ones I had resized to get the right ratio haven't helped - current attempt is 360x266 which is right height but narrower than requested.
It also seems that even after I manually refresh on my profile page that new version doesn't show up beside me in this thread which is confusing me.
