I used to eat a lot of cheese and was fat and mucussy! Now I still eat it but a normal amount ... and my BMI is now normal and I don't have the mucus problem. I fart less too

Many years back I used to take hay fever tablets year round. A nurse fried said that was silly and I was prob allergic to somethig so had some food intolerance testing, dairy was shown to be an issue. I totally stopped and came off the tablets. Now some does sneak in in the form of chocolate but I don't have milk, cheese , cream etc,
I found it quite hard as a veggie so started eating fish again but have stopped that since.
I never managed to find a mik substitute I liked so I now have black tea and dnt bother with milk on cereals I have them with fruit instead which gives it moisture,
I think that if you start thinking lets switch a yogurt for a soya yogurt you may find it harder as often the vegan alternative is not very nice. Switch the soya yogurt for some fruit or something else that is not necessarily in a pot!
I hate the soya yogurts which you get in the fridge section but really like the soya alpro vanilla ones which are in the non fridge section and also the soya custard.

Blister - I used to sneeze loads after cereal with milk and then have to blow my nose a lot. The same happened if I ate cream - if I was out for a meal I'd have to go to the loo and blow my nose after sneezing loudly at the table.
I gave up cow milk and now I'm fine. I have goat milk and still have small amounts of any type of yoghurt and mainly sheep and goat cheese - I prefer these sorts of cheese anyway, particularly the Italian ones. I also have goat butter.
You might find that yoghurt and cheese, due to the way they're processed, don't have the same effect as milk/cream/butter, so you might be OK with those. That's what I'd try for starters. Good luck.

Going back to your original question Blister, my diet is Asian most of the time - Indian, Sri Lankan, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese etc. So you could consider completely changing your diet. Asian dishes tend not to use with dairy products, with the exception of Indian curds (plain yoghurt) used in raita, cooking and just served with food.

Thanks for all your replies everyone, I have been a little pre-occupied with picking my (Mexican) girlfriend up from the airport and spending time with her. I have already started using some milk made from coconut milk and been avoiding other dairy products but will look at everything that's been written here in more detail a little later too.
