If it's the big block of Marseille olive oil soap, I used a warm cheese wire with good results, as mentioned above.

Previously I've posted about the Oliva soap bars - in a cardboard box. Lasts for bloody ages.

Help! What do I do about the husband and his insane plastic use?

He *knew* he was going to the supermarket after work yesterday. I asked him if he had enough bags before he left. He still came home with about four new bags. He does this almost EVERY time he goes to the shop, so we are still drowning under a sea of plastic bags.

His solution? Well, we can just throw them out.

FFS!

I am so frustrated.

He also buys LOADS of utter crap that we don't need, including for the kids. It's heartbreaking, and needless / pointless consumerism.

If he drives to the shop, put a load of bags in his car (I do it as soon as we unpack the shopping so I don't forget).

Used to be the same with Mr RF. Did what Smash said as well and he would say he forgot to take the bags from the car!!! So we had a chat & I asked him what would make it easier for him to remember to BYOB, emphasising that this was important to me. He bought a cotton bag that he keeps with his hat & has been using that! Have also managed to get him to mostly BYO cup to the coffee shop.

Are you married to Mr Carp WL? :-o

Even if they're in the bloody car, he still forgets to take them in, and gets more. It drives me insane.

I am always forgetting my bags for the supermarket but I just unload from trolley to boot and then boot to kitchen. I have to do a few journeys out to the driveway and back which is annoying but that's my own fault for forgetting. Sometimes I'll pick up an empty box at Sainsbury's to use instead.

A fine, like a swear box for every plastic item he brings into the house?

Yep, even if they're in the car, he would forget them...

He just can't remember anything. For example, I asked him to write toothpaste on the list for me. He brought home toothpaste for himself because it was on the list in his handwriting. FFS. (yes, we use different toothpaste. I have sensitive teeth).
