Interestingly Mosquito larvae have been found with micro-plastic in their bodies. Why is that a concern? Because it is in the food chain: independent.co.uk

I wonder how long before we find the first human with micro-plastic in their body? Will that accelerate the changes? |

If there's microplastic in fish and insect larvae, it would be surprising if it wasn't in humans.

Ah ok then. Next question is, how many people know that we already have micro-plastics inside us? And how many care? |

At this moment not enough care otherwise you'd hear much more campaigning and many more groups out cleaning the beaches and riversides + harsher penalties on litter. Think this is because it is unknown about how it will affect humans and the research is still young. It is not an immediate affect on our health but guess it will play a subtle role in health disorders our generations will see or even now are seeing. |

Also treating this as a binary “is it there or not” is surely over simplistic, complicating the matter. There’s a gazillion molecules in every human, there’s going to be a bit of everything. So I guess we need to understand the health impact of various amounts and types AND how our methods of detection work with that. |
