My mum and dad have gone for cardboard coffin in woodland burial too. No grave markers but will have a tree. (They're still alive just being prepared).

Personally I don't even want a coffin. Easily compostible cotton shroud please, and bury me in woodland. Thing is, I'm not sure how legal or practical that is! Just a shrouded body on a trolley in church may alarm the vicar 😂. I also like the Tibetan "sky burial" tradition but it's not arid enough here and we have no vultures.

Cremation in a shroud is apparently fine. naturaldeath.org.uk

My preference. Coffins seem so OTT for a cremation.

I'd also prefer cremation in a cardboard box or cotton shroud. Once they've taken all the good bits to use for other people or science.

Easy to do:

- Cucumber / celery / carrot sticks - cut and serve
- Tomatoes
- snacks from bulk buy / zero waste shops if you have them close (2 have just opened within 5 miles of me!!!)
- Grapes, cherries, peaches from farmer's market
- Bakery items - BYOB
- Cans or jars of olives

Medium Prep Time:
- Homous - can purchase cans of chick peas to reduce prep time + jars of tahini from health food - as dips
- Canned tomatoes can be used to make salsa
- Avocados have been going cheap at the moment to make guacamole
- Cut melons from supermarket

Slow Prep Time:
- Potato / sweet potato wedges rubbed with spices / olive oil before roasting
- home made dolmades + oven-baked felafels

Fetch's Packaging:
- Reuse existing envelopes (A4 or whatever) that businesses and others throw out.
- Request for t-shirts to be delivered in boxes without t-shirts being individually packaged. For size separation - have sets folded together

The extra bonus for today: Natural Burial (http://www.naturaldeath.org.uk/index.php?page=coffins-and-urns-2)
- donate any good bits to science and other people
- wicker coffin with a tree - no head stone
- Cardboard coffin in woodland
- Compostable cotton shroud in woodlands
- And for food for those who come to mourn with you - the finger foods above or teach group about foraging (chestnuts, wind berries, leaves that can be eaten, mushrooms, snails, flowers that can be used for tea)
