Morning fetchies forgot I followed this thread. I’ve been working on gratuity for a few of years since working with a yogi run coach & attending my first yoga/run retreat in 2020. To continue this journey I’m starting to do the Daily Stoic and determined to make this year my year of focusing on what makes me happy and letting go of what doesn’t.

Happy New Year all!

The Joyuary thread made me think about this one and the fact I’ve neglected it.

Tell me more about Daily Stoic geordiegirl

halfpint the Daily Stoic is a book by Ryan Holiday, its described as 366 meditations on wisdom, perseverance and the art of living. Lots of philosophical teachings which they relate back to today's world. So far -

1st January - work on what we can control and put aside what we cannot (something I have tried to live with for a lot of years but always a good reminder)

2nd - education is freedom, choose self knowledge over distraction

3rd - do what matters, say no to things that don't overwhelm and consume you life - take the time back

Choose self knowledge over distraction really resonates. How much time do I spend scrolling or watching when I could be learning.

Or indeed something useful, I keep saying I dont have time to do yoga when really I spend far too much time on SM or just faffing (normally to stay awake)
