Its not a bad idea, but its not difficult to do it the old fashioned way. Depends how hard it is for you to provide us with another option.

Not sure I would need text though, it often takes a few days for official results to be available anyway, particularly for the smaller local races.

The aim is to make it as simple as possible really. Email on phones is just that little bit more everywhere. The plan is also to make the response email carry some extra value eg position in relation to all racers that day, not just particular race. Of course it also encourages and reminds people to return to the site, and you can't blame little old me for that, surely? ;-)

I've given it a go. Does the longish code line have to be pasted into the e-mail reply? I'm not really smart enough for my smart phone.

The code has to be in your reply, but if you hit 'Reply' to my message, a lot of email clients will include my message within your reply.

I had already manually logged my time before I got your email. But I have tried it anyway, got a useful response back straight away, and it hasn't duplicated my race entry that I can see.

However...

It says I was 1 out of 2 fetchies (yay thinks I), but the other fetchie was way faster than me :-(

Whoops, that bit was upside-down in my code.

Hi again. I hit the reply button in the hotmail app on an HTC desire. It sent me back an error message, so I guess that I will have to learn how to cut and paste text in my phone. It's a great idea though, and I like getting the email at breakfast time on race day.
