I thought it would be train as like you say gives more people the chance to pay their respects Lots of great photos on my FB news feed. My own video doesn't do the procession justice |

Have to say, understandable as it is, the forest of mobile phones as the coffin goes down the Total Mile is tiresome.

I think the policewoman on the bay horse with the white star at the front of the procession up the mile deserves some kind of special commendation. That was not an easy ride! I hope she has at least been supplied with gin by this point.

The thanksgiving service for Queen Elizabeth II from St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh this afternoon could not have been better structured. Thanks, praise, respect and solemnity combined with the most sublime of musical pieces: Old 100th hymn; Psalm 118:17-21 sung simply and movingly by Karen Matheson in Gaelic with harp accompaniment; the anthem, Justorum animae, by William Byrd (1543-1623); and closing with the hymn, 'The bleacher lass o’ Kelvinhaugh', words by Leith Fisher (1941–2009) before processing out to a Prelude and Fugue by J S Bach. telegraph.co.uk |

I know much of the pomp and ceremony is traditional, but the amount of things Charles has had to attend while grieving for his mother is ridiculous

That said, time for simple reflection seems to be in very short supply. |

Yes i feel for Charles in many ways, it must be very difficult. On a more positive note, Primark are closing all UK stores, offices and depots on Monday. |

I'm sure you're right swittle, but planning can only prepare someone so much.
