Rest sounds like the best idea for you, The Scribbler. Hopefully tomorrow you’ll feel better. I just had a walk today and am hoping that my legs are rested enough for intervals tomorrow.

I hope things improve for you scribbler.
We all need rest days and cut back weeks.
Well done Ness.

Yes, I figure prevention is better than cure, especially in the current conditions. No events that will suffer and only self imposed targets to train for. Rolling my foot on a spiky ball as I type this morning and planning to do calf stretches on my work Skype catch up.

Hello! 👋
I’m just reaching the end of the fourth week of my attempt at Project Joker. Was wondering how others are getting on with this. Everyone doing ok?

Hi Ness, I'm almost finished week 8. I've been enjoying it on the whole. I've increased my rep time for the intervals and a little for the tempo session too. Or should that be decreased!
How have you got on / finding the sessions?

I gave up again as not getting intervals done....I need to knock one of early morning runs in the head and take that as an interval after work.

Hard luck LG, I suppose at least you know what you need to do to do it justice.

I’ve fallen off the Joker wagon a bit too. Think I’m on week 6 and have only managed 1 run this week.
I’m not too worried as it’s just a way for me to try and mix up my runs so they’re not all slow and easy, but that’s mostly where I settle.
I’ve been thinking about signing up for the GNR solo challenge because it promises a medal. But it’s 40 runs in 78 days, and even if I only do a mile, that would be running every other day and that feels like too much for me. Especially when I also want to fit in other things I enjoy like swimming in the sea, my weekly PT session and yoga, plus getting out for some good walks and taking photos.

Hi, all. Hi FF. I’m doing okay thanks. The threshold/tempo sessions are the ones I find most difficult. They’re the only bit I’ve used a ‘joker’ for. I do my intervals session on a Saturday morning and they’re going quite well.
I’m back to work full time from next week so it’ll be interesting to see if I can keep going.
The GNR challenge sounds interesting, scribbler.

The threshold / tempo session should be easier than your 5k pace. If parkrun is your thing then it should be easier than an all out 5k. Tbh I find the tempo sessions hard but they have got easier as the weeks have passed. So much so that I have knocked 10 seconds off the PJ suggested time for my last 4 weeks of the plan. I don't know if I've done right or not but I have.
