Not a great race because the first two was decided a long time before the finish. But an epic performance from all concerned. They were all completely knackered by the end of the stage.
Was nip and tuck for a while as to whether Vollering was going to stay away from the chasing group, who seemed to get stronger as they went. But I'm glad she did. She deserved to. Winner never in doubt really. AVV obviously recovered from her bout of sickness.
Now, will she attack again today, or will she just sit in and cover.
My money is on attacking. It's in her DNA.

I enjoyed the ‘sprint’ on gravel and road racing wheels with a 24% gradient.
Entertainment? Yes But the finish of a serous TdF? Probably not the most appropriate?

I think the finish was fine. There's no reason why the men couldn't finish there (and they've ridden it before) other than they have a 'ceremonial' last stage.
