Merry Christmas and Happy NewG(rrr)
I used to eat a lot of porridge, but I cut out breakfast when I realised how huge the calories were. Just a black coffee for breakfast now.
Except on marathons / ultra days, cos it's a great bulk of slow release carbs! G

Black coffee and a banana is my workday start. Porridge before marathons, and maybe half marathons. No real reason other than doing what other people do!
Half cup of oats, cup of milk, in bowl. Stir. Microwave until it tries to escape from the box. Golden syrup, maybe some dried fruit. Yum. But plenty carbs!

Porridge for me today. 50g medium oatmeal, water / milk / salt. Cooked in a pan. Drizzle of honey, splash of cream and some blueberries. Very nice, but all those carbs make me hungry too soon in the day.
The oats alone are about 185 calories, and 30g Carbs.

I used to live in a big rented house with 9 other people. Most of us ate porridge and noticed that we felt hungry about an hour later.
Oats induce relaxation, so it’s strange that we eat them for breakfast. For tea would make more sense.

One of pals often has porridge for supper.
I've found adding plenty of seeds to my breakfast porridge keeps me fuller, longer. Not by much mind, but still better than no breakfast.

Had to miss my porridge this morning because my wife insisted we go out for brunch instead. Nutella pancakes were worth the wait though.

I had some of what Thomasina Miers was on about this morning. I didn't have any date molasses and don't eat yogurt. The tahini was OK but think those two missing ingredients would have balances out a slight bitterness and I prefer almond butter.

Aberfeldy oats this morning, made with 3 parts water, 2 parts almond milk. Goji berries added shortly before serving to allow them to soften. Served with a knob of butter and a drizzle of maple syrup.
