My cousin was unable to stop herself a) laughing in disbelief and b) womansplaining to her exactly why she was misinterpreting what she saw as a benefit provided by the tories |

I’ve thought for a long time that any govt which looks at the increase in food banks and doesn’t see it as a social ill which needs to be rectified doesn’t deserve to be in office. But this bunch lost what remained of their moral compass years ago and now they are coming to the end of the road that their clownish incompetence and corruption has led them down. History will be made on Thursday and I am going to stop up to see it unfold. I’m particularly looking forward to the bit where the Witch King Mogg screams “No living man can kill me!” and Dernhelm whips off his helmet to reveal he is, in fact, Angela Rayner. “I am no man!” She shouts and thrusts her sword into his face. He shrivels away and is seen no more. |

I'll still be stunned if the Tories have fewer than 120 seats. As solid as Labour's campaign has been, they've not kicked on and solidified things, and whilst the Tories have shot themselves in the foot I think a lot of wavering Tories will feel more confident about casting their vote for Con because they "know" it won't be a vote to return them to government. That fear about a massive steamroller of a majority for Labour will hit hard with some. The great unknown I think is the Farage factor, and I can't treat any impact he has with any "silver lining" attitude in relation to Labour's victory, so perhaps that's encouraging my pessimism. All I want is a solid Labour majority. 50 will do. |

Furlough the scheme that Sunak takes credit for, that well thought out idea that cost the tax payer hundreds of million in fraud ? Bravo

By this I mean Furlough was needed but as usual the government were incompetent on checks or reclaiming over payments

[It’s only fraud if they get caught @richmac - and they only get caught if the authorities look for them 😡

There appear to be grounds for optimism that Truss will be gone by Friday. She was reportedly thrown out of a chip shop in Thetford the other day. A chip shop! In Thetford! Birthplace of Thomas Paine btw, a resonance hero of mine. |
