A leftist writes: "Why the next 10 years are Starmer's fault." Funnily enough, the Mail is similarly convinced. |

Don't see any evidence this guy is the left anyway. There's a subthread of him calling Corbyn cakeist and googling him, he's worked for Gove.

He's not saying Starmer is the same as Johnson, he's saying that Starmer is adopting the same political strategy of promises based on lies.

Is that Johnsons real legacy? He's damaged the electorate so badly that they only believe or will only vote for unrealistic claims leaving all politicians in his wake having to adopt the same sort of tactic to stand a hope. I think there is some sort of two tier thing now in politics, probably always been there, the version that will get you elected and the version of what you actually can do once in, basically it's stranger things isn't it. |

JDA - Exactly. Meanwhile on LauraK this morning, apart from attacking climate protestors, he won't remove the 2 child cap benefit, despite pledging exactly that in 2020 (ie long after continuity Corbynism had been done with): twitter.com I'm done with this. Greens acting way more sensible, if it means another 5 years of Tory so be it. |

That’s a baffling and not to say self-destructive take if ever there was one. If they get in again I take it every poster on here will accept any part they had in it? No? It’s all Starmer’s fault again? Colour me surprised. And we say Brexiteers refuse to own the consequences of their decisions… |

I don't think it's fair to say to other voters that they must vote Tory or Labour because they have the only chance of forming the next government. Actually that attitude is partly why they have the only chance of forming the next government. Obviously voters can make that choice if they want to but the the more voters say they are willing to vote for other parties, the more chance that others might take the same decision. |

...which currently is the only way for those other parties to get a foothold.

I’m absolutely happy to accept the responsibility I will bear for not voting Labour. Which in my constituency is the square root of fuck all. |
