I read the article regarding Starmer saying he hates tree huggers and I was amazed that Starmer would talk to a senior member of the cabinet like Miliband in that way. It's the Times so maybe a hit job, or maybe there's a real rift and I guess the times would like someone that hates tree huggers.

He’s gone now, but I wonder if there will be additional partygate and related stuff on there as well as all his deranged burblings on COVID. Probably. To a man who has generally acted with impunity throughout his life an encrypted messaging system probably felt like a space where he could say anything he bally well likes, and of course as world king he can do what he wants anyway. It will be gruesome. |

There may be entirely reasonable issues that led to the suspension but there seems to be a pattern. I guess the candidate is well respected locally (whether deserved or not).

BBC is reporting bbc.co.uk the government has now found a record of his PIN number, paving the way for it to be accessed. I saw that 'The Independent' ran this story in time for the 'Today' prog to broadcast at or around 8 this morning. Do keep up! |

Sam Freedman nails it on Keir Starmer: I understand why they want to emphasise fiscal responsibility but claiming you can achieve Scandinavian levels of social mobility without spending a lot of money (alongside reform) is just insulting peoples' intelligence. It's a cakeist as any position taken by Boris Johnson. twitter.com |

Some truth in that but to say it's as cakeist a position as taken by Boris is insulting peoples’ intelligence. Honestly if the left don’t learn to distinguish shades of imperfection they’ll in-fight away from power forever. Starmer is nowhere near as bad as BoJo. Obviously.

Starmer is sincere. Johnson was a liar and a narcissist who cared not a jot about any real change beyond what occurred to him at any particular moment. Bracketing them together is a mistake.

Isn't the tweet referring to a specific scenario rather than saying Starmer is a bad as Johnson? Partygate isn't related to cakeism for example.
