I try really hard not to use the R word but it's hard, it's really hard. If Johnson does get 109 and decides to go, leading to Sunak throwing in the towel, I will draw my own conclusions on why the man with brown skin feels he can't get elected by his party despite being a better candidate than a useless sociopath bag of custard and a Cos lettuce with dreams of Empire.

I’m also careful with throwing the r word about but the majority of Tory party members are racist.

I'm not convinced Penny Mordaunt is going to get to 100 nominations. I think it's a toss-up between a Johnson-Sunak run-off (unless Sunak throws his toys out of the pram and refuses to run against Johnson) and a Sunak coronation... I could easily imagine a scenario is which Sunak wins the MPs run-off about 250-110, but then the Tory membership completely ignore that. Although the elderly members' lack of universal email coverage might count against Johnson...
I was thinking the other way round, Johnson angling for a coronation. Will he be happy to go to the back benches? I can see a potentially tricky by-election in Uxbridge, with Johnson going back to writing tomes and talking his usual stream of consciousness bollox as an after dinner speaker.

It’s pretty much the logical conclusion.

Rumour is Johnson will back Rishi now. (Dan "unreliable" Hodges, so ladle of salt needed)
He can't get the 100 can he?

Tories vote Johnson back, they are politically dead.
Tories don't vote Johnson back, they are politicaly dead.
It is a win-win for non-Tories.

Saw a photo on Twitter of him "working the phones". Besides the usual fatuous thumbs up he looked exhausted and rotting from the inside. Might be the outward manifestation of his decaying soul. Or possibly jet lag.

Jet lag west to east is a bummer. His general lack of any fucks about doing his job in Parliament when there are pina coladas to be sipped will be costing him dear at the moment.

Is there even a chance they just do a deal and return as PM and Chancellor again? Paul that is what Houchen has proposed already (and Gibbo would be well pleased with that outcome too I’m sure)
I suppose that makes sense for them both. Not sure about the methods but it was working for them before.

I absolutely agree with this. I’m far from an expert but I can understand why they’re siding towards Johnson. The party faces obliteration so why not choose the man who is a winner (somehow) despite all the baggage and it even comes with its own immediate 3 word slogan for the simpletons (sorry / not sorry).
