Stay in post for the summer months, getting full PM pay, full use of chequers, leaving all the big decisions for the next PM and letting his cabinet run everything while he does essentially nothing.
Can see why that would be appealing.

I just heard Allegra Strachan call Boris Johnson arrogant. This is the Allegra Strachan who was on the piss and laughing about it when people were dying!
Just run that by me again.
Nothing is going to change.

All ex-PMs are entitled to claim £115k per year 'towards the cost of maintaining public duties'. So he might be 'poor', but not destitute.
And he'll still get a chauffeur driven jag and police protection. Although the downside for Boris is that he has to let them know where he is all the time.
And I bet the new one rips out the wallpaper.

Boris did his job - to be the face of Brexit. He will be remembered for that forever

POTUS statement following the "resignation" of Boris Johnson...makes no mention of ...Boris Johnson.

That will smart a bit.
Dunno about the face of Brexit, his real job has always been the aggrandization of Boris - he is the face of arrogance, vanity and entitlement. Anything else is incidental or irrelevant, or simply a ruse.

Liebour should table a Vote of No Confidence if they object to PM staying in position ad interim .They wouldn't dare , of course.
