It’s all just so fucking idiotic it makes me want to just shut my front door and pretend the rest of the UK doesn’t exist. Thick, jingoistic, ignorant, spiteful bigotry. The Brexiters - and by extension the Tories - just don’t have anything else to offer.

Moody's saying they expect the UK economy to shrink significantly as a result of Brexit. I "suppose" the plus side is that sooner or later we may rejoin the SM/CU but we will be learning the hard way that "independence" comes with a price. |

JDA: It might be but is there actually any UK-grown tea available? I wasn't aware of any but I've honestly not done any research and just assumed. And coffee is another story surely? |

I've given up ranting about Brexit on Facey. As far as I am concerned the Brexiteers can choke on it. They have been shoving the "we won/we knew what we were voting for" lines for years and have made zero attempts to arrive at a national consensus on Brexit, gravitating over time to one of the worst possible outcomes as the "only" outcome short of no deal - which a considerable number of them were okay with. The penny is dropping, but they remain in denial. literally see zero stuff in favour of Brexit anymore which isn't from hardline dickheads like Farage and Redwood. I still can't recognise a country that looks at Johnson and Gove and the rest with their ineptitude, lies and inhumanity and says, "yep, they're the guys for me". I'd move abroad tomorrow if I could. |

All three of my children now live abroad. One in Australia, one in Canada, one in Finland. The youngest two, who are both highly qualified, came to that decision (to emigrate) post Brexit vote. Both said that the anti intellectual atmosphere at least partly decided the matter.

I should add that the eldest isn't daft either. Just more practical and athletic.
