I now feel better this morning than I have the past two mornings. The leg feels stronger and isnt as stiff. Obviousley I dont mind a bit of stifness in the morning, just in in the back of my leg.

dave, lie on the floor on your back, bring left knee to center of your chest and hold it with your left hand on the side to stabilize it ,thenuse your right hand to hold your ankleand pulll it round gently.you should feel a stretch in your bum, hold for 15 secs and swap legs, repeat 2 more times each but be gentle.the idea is to keep your knee chest level and in the center.it will stretch your piriforis muscle.

Hi all - the sofa is getting crowded isn't it !
Chicken - sorry to hear your hip is playing up again, keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Had a good run yesterday. Again shins not perfect but better than of late, mostly felt it in my right shin.
Did my same route (4.17m) as Monday eve and managed it in 35mins dead.

Am still not confident that I'm out of the woods yet so am hanging around the bench for a bit longer.

Runnerbean; Cheers for that. I pickerd up a couple of stretches last night from looking around t'internet. I'm assuming that you get similar problems? If so, how longs this likely to last? Ive not had this problem before and dont want to be out of action for ages.

Oh, and how often do I do the stretches for?

Anyspare air freshner for here? Have open day tomorrow for nice people to buy our house. The air is a bit stale because I havn't moved my arse from the sofa for so long.

Stretches, I've always been told to hold them for at least a min for large muscles. That was for cool down stretches tho and I know nothing about injury so um .. don't listen to me ;)

CL , i am good, got fizz today but calf feels fine.*hides funny ciggies*

Dave, depends on how ar race is and in how much pain you are in. i had a sore calf in march last year but carried on running and ended up 70% rupture 4 days before FLM, i learnt my lesson!!:-(
