If you want Peak District authenticity try the Grouse Inn at Froggat. For a rough as a badgers arse poachers pub it has to be The Little John at Hathersage.

It's been winning awards for its food for over a decade and is a favourite of locals over a large area. But you'll need to make sure you book and take your big appetite It sits just above High Peak Trail so is nicely placed for a pre-visit walk or cycle. peakpub.co.uk
