TM - as far as I am aware, no attempt has been made to connect that part of the parkrun data with a program that would give driving distances - it's all as the crow flies. I guess it isn't one of the priorities - especially as there are other sources out there that give more detail than the normal person would ever need. parkrun IT still seems to hark back to the days when ( iirc ) Richard Leyton put a few things together from his garage and we revelled in the new world of data technology, it provided what was required and all that was needed at the time - until the garage server started failing with ever increasing numbers of events all trying to post results at the same time.

Which will arrive first, the new parkrun webpages or Berlin's new airport:-p ?
Anyone know if a solution has been found re the photos yet? Just paying Flickr would possibly be the sensible one. Although the way it works is not that great for parkrun photos, I think

Thanks for responses. I can see the logic of leaving it be, its not a big deal and avoids favouring cars I suppose. It also follows that the shortest drive isnt necessarily the quickest so may as well remain neutral and let people work out whats best for them.

The distance between things reminds me of when I was booking a hotel for my first O" visit. It said the hotel was 1km from the venue - great I thought - walking distance. I didn't think to check to see that it was on the opposite bank of the Thames!

Well Jovi Runner, you arent the only one I am sure. I have previously noted that Laterooms does the same as parkrun. So The Grand Hotel in Exmouth is, according to them, is just 5.8 miles from Teignmouth if you are looking to stay near the latter. By road its more like 23miles.

Sigh
@Dvorak - comment on the Hanley parkrun page: "We're currently in the process of moving all our photos from Flickr to Google Photos"
