I can thoroughly recommend Aviemore, though it might be a bit exposed on a cold windy day. Small and friendly event, nice underfoot and an out and back course with quite a bit of gentle climbing in the first half. Fine views, blooming heather and you might even glimpse a passing steam train.

Hello
Are there any York parkrunners doing some parkrun tourism this weekend and have space in a car for 2 carless Scots down for the weekend? Have looked at public transport options which I would do but it's a bit much for my wee dad.
We are staying in the centre but could walk somewhere if easier.
Will obviously contribute to fuel and/or provide sweeties for the journey.
Thanks!!

Or perhaps you knew that and were looking for a lift to Wetherby or other nearby parkrun?

Indeed Sera, she was asking about alterno-parkruns before.
(I finished just behind her at Stirling 10km and can confirm she does not appear to be an axe-murderer ;-).)

Yeah we wanted to do York but it's cancelled. We are down for my dad's 60th and it would be fine for me to get the train and walk to a parkrun but it's a bit much for him and he really wants to run

Haha, I can confirm I am not an axe murderer, nor is my dad. Just 2 keen parkrunners hoping to scrounge a lift from a kind (non axe murdering) fellow parkrunner

You could get the train to Harrogate parkrun. It's about 15 mins walk from Harrogate train station to the start of parkrun. Or if someone can give you a lift you could come to the nicest pakrun in the uk (as an RD I may be a bit biased) - Fountains Abbey
