I meant to say that the only reason it stopped was because we moved. I’m sure Clive still orders/reserves periodicals for everyone!

A sign of my nerddom, but from the 70's onwards my magazine of choice was White Dwarf.
Large stash of them in the shed still.

Velociraptor
In the 1970s some boys in my year at school decided to form a heavy metal band which they called White Dwarf. From what I overheard, a heavy metal band's chances of success were heavily dependent upon having a good logo and it didn't get off the ground because the lead singer could only sing with a broad Scottish accent.

You are right about the logo V'rap. Needed to be easy to carve into a school desk.
But did heavy metal really depend on the clarity of the singers diction?

Fair point. I was very keen on Nazareth back in the day because they had a really funky letter N in their logo*
*I might have misremembered this, but it seems a strange thing to imagine.

Sigh
For years I had a TDK C-120 on which I had recorded a Nazareth gig which was broadcast on Radio 1, this would have been circa 1980. Most of the same material appeared later on the "Snaz" live album, but the Radio 1 version was from a UK concert rather than Canada as on the album. I saw them at Birmingham Odeon in '84.

Blimey. I'd assumed they'd gone away at the end of the seventies. I *think* ~tries not to google~ the album that I got all excited about was called RazamaNaz or something on those lines?
