Especially those who are struggling with the real world, all that having to be "responsible" and make "grown up" decisions about important business issues, decisions that will affect people's lives over the next few weeks/months*.
They are like that, but partly because they just need a release, somewhere to be a little bit silly for a few minutes. Somewhere they can forget all the important stuff and just revert back to the playground or the sports changing room, anywhere where they can find a bit of banter with folk who share social history and obscure trivia from a time when they didn't have to be the one's in charge.
They never mean to cause offence.**

Sigh
I agree with needing a release. I had to join a Europe-wide conference call yesterday where the host took it in turn to go to each country so they could tell us how bad it is. There was no benefit to this whatsoever from a business perspective. I mentioned to another UK colleague on the same call (who appreciates the black humour) that it was like a macabre version of Eurovision.

Yup. Spectacularly bleak black joke (which I'm not going to repeat) came up on a group meeting this morning. From someone who wouldn't normally come up with lines like that.

I see on page 2972, that Nicholls has uploaded a page from that famous literary tome, so beloved by the well educated. No, not the complete works of Shakespeare, nor the bible I hasten to add. Could it be Viz? (Surely some mistake, as they like to say in Private Eye).
