Cruise control is massively useful in several local towns which have long open stretches restricted to 30mph.

Toyota used to offer cruise control *and* a speed limiter. The latter was perfect, until you got to a busy junction (or Gallows Corner roundabout near Romford) and tried to accelerate into the traffic and found it was still turned on.

Toyota I believe came to the same conclusion which is why they don't offer it any more.

I use the satnav *all* the time - even going to the tennis club which is a four mile journey I could do in my sleep - simply for the 'predicted arrival time'.

Ditto, Gerp, apart from the Tennis club bit, and to see whether there are any traffic issues I should avoid.

I had a Renault a few years ago that had the speed limiter / cruise control option. I thought speed limiter was a good idea until I came to use it. Just as Grep found.

We don't have satnav, although we do occasionally use Gooogle maps on our phones, mostly for predicted journey times (comparing routes to places).

I still have a Big AA Map in the front of the car.

I went automatic years ago after first driving one in Florida. I found cruise control just the job for driving along Alligator Alley. I haven't got it on my current car, which I've had for over 10 years, but oh how my left leg has been saved over all these years, especially in all our local traffic jams. I still go for the clutch at times though.

We've got a big AA map too - replace it every two or three years. I just like physical maps as much as anything else.

Our satnav has gremlins in it so we rarely use it. I tend to use my phone as my satnav but we also have map books.

When I say Satnav, I mean Google Maps on my phone.
