I’m enjoying watching some sports I’ve never come across before - kayak cross and speed climbing being 2 examples.

About to watch the skateboarding. Is Sky Brown the only goofy?

MrsNDW wasn’t impressed by my “backside air” on the sofa

No idea but a goofy skateboarder is a bit like left hander in Cricket where they look classier for an identical shot

Well done, Sky Brown. We all love a fighter - carrying a shoulder injury yet still battling to a brilliant bronze.

The skateboarding was fun to watch. I’m watching Eurosport in Turkey so main main reference point is the pitch and volume of the commentator’s voice!

Brilliant from Sky. I particularly like the energy at the skate park, all the girls congratulating each other and really excited if someone does a great run.

I used to watch skateboarding in the 90s and the women’s competition was a bit meh relative to the men’s back then but today was absolutely on point. The level of execution was incredible

Not seen this year's, though I remember feeling a bit like that in Tokyo. There didn't seem to be the same strength in depth - at all - in the women's competition than there was in the men's.

But that's some of the beauty about putting these sports in the Olympics. It's raises standards, raises the profile, and raises participation overall.

Loving the Olympics! Discovering new sports like kayak cross and speed climbing. Sky Brown's bronze was amazing, especially with her injury. Women's skateboarding has come a long way

About This Thread

Maintained by Curly45
Couldn't find a thread so thought I would start one.

Who else is off to watch or who is watching at home?

We're doing Lille and Paris and a mix of sports. Currently trying to find travel insurance that includes ticket cancellation as some of the trains in the UK might be difficult and we have some internal French trains to do as well.

Also need to work out the new Paris metro ticket/app combo (Navigo I think).
