Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Why does the lighting of the cauldron get more procrastinated with every Games? Why can't it be as simple as a runner arrives with the flame and another does a short run to the cauldron?

Ali fighting to light the flame ravaged by illness was my top flame lighting.

Well done Rebecca Adlington for being honest despite Balding and Cram needing to make it look good. Yes, a) the athletes don't want to be hanging around in the rain getting cold and b) it wasn't the best opening ceremony either.

Super easy to pay a trained interpreter to do that. It wouldn't even have cost very much. Probably an order of magnitude less than the presenters were getting.

Disappointed that they didn't light the top of the Eiffel Tower.

The rowing programme starts in about an hour. If anyone is interested in finding out a bit about what they're watching:

I liked the subtle dig at our former government by having a diverse range of wonderful people arrive on small boats.

About This Thread

Maintained by Curly45
Couldn't find a thread so thought I would start one.

Who else is off to watch or who is watching at home?

We're doing Lille and Paris and a mix of sports. Currently trying to find travel insurance that includes ticket cancellation as some of the trains in the UK might be difficult and we have some internal French trains to do as well.

Also need to work out the new Paris metro ticket/app combo (Navigo I think).
