Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I think I'm doing this now via a charity I'm involved in. Trying not to think about how much money I've said I'll raise... or the fact that I'd already signed up and paid for Amsterdam before the opportunity to do NY came up and there's only two weeks between them! trying to decide between dropping down to the half in Amsterdam or just accepting that NY will be slower and doing both anyway...

I'll ask this in here as well as on the NY RW board as you guys are friendlier!

Do they have pacers with little boards at the NYC like they do at FLM and some of the HM's

Hi Girlie - I'm doing New York too. I've got a cold at the moment so not much running going on. Not sure about pacers - I've never done a race with them but I guess if you are in the right pen with those of your same ability you should be running at your right pace.

Yes Girlie, they do have pacers, not to worry :-)

I did NY in 2005, as my first mara (was also suppsoed to be my last, but thats another story ;-)) it was absoluetly brilliant! The crowds are amazing, it the largest street party in the world and you are right in it for several hours!

Not an easy course though, a lot of long steady slight uphills... false flat we call it in Holland...

Cheers Hanneke, I like the reassurance of a pacer, then I don't have to think about pace, just keep them in sight and I can enjoy the vibe!
we have a lot of those sort of 'hills' round here, so I can get a bit of practice in then!

Thought I'd bump this again - see how everyone is - how the training is going.

I've just run my last x-country race for the season - have been feeling sick for the last few weeks - have to start thinking about the marathon soon.

Actually must get myself out the door for a run - very pleasant conditions out there at the moment.
