Yes it's true. I've received an e-mail from the Organisers confirming the race has been cancelled due to the field being waterlogged and parts of the course being unsafe. They will review the situation in a few weeks, and hopefully the race will be held later in the year.

"If you are reading this, we obviously failed to reach you" - from the cancellation notice handed to us as we drove into the New Forest 10 site this morning. We drove down on Friday and stayed at a B&B in Lymington, so were somewhat off-grid.

Oh that sucks for you I see from the email that they thought about cancelling Thursday, but checked the weather and thought it would dry up. Really hard call to make I guess.
I really need to find another 10 miler though. This was going to be a good marker for my Half training for September

Ah, it's two hours away from me
Shame as weekend of the 22nd is perfect, no plans that weekend at all. I can just run the distance ofc but didn't want to go from 10km, to Half, in terms of race distance in one go.
Still, can't be helped I guess.

There is the Lordshill 10 mile race, which is normally the first Sunday in November.

I'm OK for autumn, doing the Great South. Was trying to find something now, as training for the Stockholm Half mid-September.
A Fetchie on here told me about the Gut Buster, just north of Basingstoke, which is this Sunday. So is pretty much ideal. Apart from it being hilly rather than flat, and there is a ford, and other non "easy first 10-mile course" type stuff
Ideally they re-schedule this for mid-August, but I doubt I'll be that lucky!
